Better is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering families, youth, and individuals across South Suburban Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Laporte Indiana.

The organization serves as a supportive resource center for low-income families, individuals experiencing homelessness, and survivors of domestic violence by providing essential services such as food distributions, hygiene kits, mentorship, workforce development, and advocacy.

Its mission focuses on strengthening communities by building self-esteem, self-sufficiency, and confidence through education, economic development, and human services programs.

Through outreach events, youth programs, and supportive services, Better Sister and Brother Growth Network work to create safe, empowered, and thriving communities while addressing critical needs such as violence prevention, housing instability, and economic opportunity.
